BENEFIT INSURANCE COMMISSION: The Sons of Italy in Massachusetts offers you a fraternal insurance program. It is an insurance program administered by the Commission for its members. The Commission meets regularly to review its policies and programs and strives to provide quality insurance for its members.
COMMISSION FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE: The Commission for Social Justice (CSJ) is the anti-defamation arm of the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA), the biggest and oldest national organization for men and women of Italian descent in the United States .
MEMBERSHIP COMMISSION: Encourages Local Lodges to implement Grand Lodge programs of coordinated membership plans. Develop programs, and conduct state membership drives that will encourage the enrollment of all persons as a regular or social membership.
CHARITABLE AND EDUCATION TRUST The OSIA Charitable and Educational Trust (a section 501(c) 3) is an affiliate of the Massachusetts Grand Lodge, Order Sons of Italy in America. Established over a quarter of a century ago the Trust is prepared to assist others through contributions to educational, charitable, cultural and disaster relief efforts. Each year through the State Scholarship Program, established in 1955, the Trust recognizes and awards over 40 outstanding high-school seniors who are planning to further their education at an accredited four-year college or university. The Trust also generously supports youth programs helping less fortunate children through community centered youth programs such as the Boy's and Girl's Clubs of America. Thousands of Trust dollars have been contributed to numerous charities, the Cooley's Anemia Foundation, Alzheimer's, Casa Monte Cassino, Don Orione Home, Breast Cancer, National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial, Children's Hospital and many more.The Trust provides critically needed relief aid to the victims involved in both National and International disasters.
Charity Commission: Charitable arm of the Grand Lodge, the commission shall raise funds for charitable disbursement. Does charitable acts such as visit and distribute gifts to nursing homes and orphanages. Raises money for the Charitable and Educational Commission
Junior Division Commission: Directs and administers the activities of the Junior Lodges. These lodges consist of members ranging in age 10 to 18 years. It builds a strong foundation of the Italian heritage, traditions, rituals and purpose of the order.
Magazine Commission: Publishes the official paper of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts "Sons of Italy News", New England's largest Italian American newspaper. The paper contains Grand Lodge news, national news as well as local lodge news, and upcoming events
Judiciary Commission: Supervises the publication of the Grand Lodge By-laws and proposals, and reviews by-laws of filial lodges.
Finance and Budget Commission: Supervise the budget system and submits it yearly to the delegates in convention for review and approval.
Organization and Education Commission: Through Lodge visitations, publications, seminars and meetings instruct the members of the Order in the ideals, purposes, ritual and rules. It is also responsible to start new lodges.
Public Relations Commission: Promotes the interest in the Order, by publicizing the social culture and charitable activities of the Order through the Sons of Italy News and various local media sources.
Italian Culture Commission: Develops programs to promote an awareness and knowledge of Italian culture both within the order and the general public.
Scholarship Commission: Annually recognizes and honors academically outstanding high school seniors with monetary scholarship awards. Together with the Charitable and Educational Trust and Local Lodges over $125,000 is awarded yearly to deserving students.
Sports Commission: Annually recognizes and honors Italian-American athletes that have demonstrated special abilities in sports. Promotes and develops Grand Lodge sport tournaments we now have: Bowling Bocce Darts Cribbage Golf Increases FRATERNITY
State Deputy Commission: Responsible for the supervision and nominations of State Deputies and District Deputies of the Grand Lodge. These Deputies represent the State President and State Council at all Local Lodge meetings.
Historical Commission: Responsible for seeking, obtaining and preserving all possible historical information concerning the Sons of Italy.
